Man missing from Orting veterans home

The veterans home in Orting is asking for help finding a missing resident.

John Cousans left the Washington Soldiers Home at 1301 Orting Kapowsin Hwy. E. on Monday evening, and has not returned, according to the state Department of Veterans Affairs.

The facility provides housing and meals for veterans, who can come and go freely. They are asked to sign out when they go, and talk to staff members when they will be gone overnight.

It’s unusual for Cousans to be gone overnight and not come back, the home said.
