A portion of State Route 509 in Tacoma will be closed between 11:59 p.m. on May 27 and 4 a.m. on May 28, and at the same times between May 28 and May 29.
The closure will be in place on the Tideflats from Alexander Avenue East and Taylor Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The closure is part of the agency’s SR 167 Completion Project, a larger effort to build six miles of new tolled highway between Puyallup and the Port of Tacoma.
“Drivers are encouraged to make alternative plans and allow extra time,” a WSDOT statement reads.
The SR 167 Completion Project is set to be completed by 2030, according to the statement.
