Detectives are asking for the public’s help finding Randy Burkel, a 67-year-old man with dementia who was last seen leaving his home in the Lake Tapps area May 13.

He was previously reported missing and found safe in March, according to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Silver Alert.

Burkel is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes, according to the Sheriff’s Office post on Facebook Wednesday. Burkel’s vehicle was found abandoned off of Tokul Road Southeast in the Snoqualmie area.

“King County and other search and rescue organizations have done extensive searches in the Snoqualmie area but have been unsuccessful,” the post says. “It is possible he was picked up by a passerby. Please call 911 if you have seen Randy or know of his whereabouts.”

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated Burkel had been found.
