A vehicle went over an embankment in Puyallup near Good Samaritan Hospital Tuesday morning.

Fire crews from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue were on scene in the 100 block of 14th Avenue Southeast, according to a spokesperson for the department.

According to PulsePoint, crews were dispatched at 11:07 a.m.

A woman who was coming from a medical clinic near the hospital thought she was hitting a brake, but accelerated, Puyallup Police Department Captain Jeremy Hedrick told The News Tribune via phone call. Her vehicle hit an embankment, went through a fence and landed sideways in the parking lot area of a hotel at 14th Avenue Southeast and South Meridian, Hedrick said.

The woman had minor injuries and after she was taken out of her vehicle, she was transported to a hospital as a precaution, he said.

There was no impairment, Hedrick said.

Fire crews are clearing the scene. Officers are waiting for a tow truck to remove the vehicle.

There are no reported road closures.
