Looking to adopt a furry friend? Puyallup shelter at capacity with dogs, puppies

A recent influx of dogs has caused the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup to be at capacity and in dire need of people to adopt pets.

Shelter officials say it is important they have kennels available to receive lost or stray dogs, abused/neglected dogs and potentially dangerous dogs from the seven cities the shelter serves in East Pierce County, according to the shelter website.

The shelter is near South Hill Mall at 1200 39th Avenue Southeast and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It has cats and kittens for adoption as well.

The full list of available pets is listed on the shelter’s website.
