A street in Puyallup will close from Sunday evening through early Friday, the city announced across its social media pages on Sunday.

The street in question: East Pioneer Way, between Shaw Road and state Route 162, which is expected to remain closed to all vehicles until 5 a.m. Friday.

“Contractors are replacing a water main and need full access to the roadway to do this work,” the social media post reads.

Local access to East Pioneer will be granted to business and property owners. All other drivers will have to use alternate routes in the area, such as East Main or state Route 410, according to the city.

Puyallup’s East Pioneer Street is closed this week for water main work. Local access is allowed, but drivers should use Route 410 or East Main as detours.
