Critically injured person rescued from burning home in Pierce County

One person was rescued from a house fire in Spanaway on Thursday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to the house in the 17100 block of 22nd Avenue East, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue on X at 10:02 a.m.

Crews rescued a male who was taken to a local burn center in critical condition, the post said.

22nd Avenue East was blocked at 171st Street and 172nd Street. The public was asked to avoid the area.
