Expect nightly I-5 lane closures in Fife next week for bridge work

Up to three lanes of Interstate 5 will close nightly starting Jan. 5 as contractor crews complete bridge work in Fife, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced.

The construction will take place on I-5 between Porter Way and 62nd Avenue East.

Monday, Jan. 5 through Friday, Jan. 9

  • Northbound I-5: Up to three lanes between 62nd Avenue East and Porter Way will close nightly from 8:30 p.m to 4 a.m. Two lanes will stay open.
  • Southbound I-5: Up to three lanes between Porter Way and 62nd Avenue East will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 5:15 a.m. Two lanes will stay open.

Friday, Jan. 9 through Saturday, Jan. 10

  • Northbound I-5: Up to three lanes between 62nd Avenue East and Porter Way will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Two lanes will stay open.
  • Southbound I-5: Up to three lanes between Porter Way and 62nd Avenue East will close nightly from 11:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Two lanes will stay open.

Drivers using this route are encouraged to make alternative plans and use caution while near the work zone.
