Motorcyclist from Graham killed in Sunday collision identified

A man who was killed Sunday night after crashing his motorcycle into a car in south Pierce County has been identified.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner determined 36-year-old Sean Weckhorst from Graham died of multiple blunt force injuries at the scene of the collision.

At around 1:15 a.m., Weckhorst was driving southbound on State Route 7 approaching 240th Street East, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old driver from Yelm was facing south in the center turn lane. He attempted to make a U-turn and the motorcyclist crashed into him, causing both vehicles to come to a stop at the intersection of SR 7 and 240th Street East.

The driver from Yelm sustained injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

The road was blocked for about four hours, according to the State Patrol.
