Supporters of former Lakewood Police Chief Larry Saunders, who died Wednesday, have established a memorial fund at Heritage Bank.

Those who wish to make donations can visit any Heritage Bank and let the bank know they would like to contribute to the “Larry Saunders Memorial Fund,” according to a statement released Friday by the City of Lakewood.

Donations will be used for memorial expenses, with any residual funds going toward the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, where Saunders served as vice chairman of the Board of Governors.

The city’s announcement noted that interested donors can also contact Jillian Klingenberg at Heritage Bank, 253-671-0840, for alternate donation methods.
