Lakewood man missing 8 days found safe

A 55-year-old Lakewood man who walked away from his care home on Jan. 8 and was missing for eight days was found safe on Saturday.

Andrew Kwitchoff was reported missing after not returning to the home at 7908 Onyx Drive Southwest.

Police said he suffers from mental health problems and did not take medication, money or food when he left.

He was found in Tacoma and returned to the care home.

It is unknown where he spent the eight days.
