Kids, this week’s warm weather just got better — and wetter.

Four Metro Parks Tacoma spraygrounds — at Norpoint Park, the SERA campus, Titlow Park and Wright Park — opened Tuesday and will stay open through the weekend.

The park district accelerated its setup work at the play areas to get them open for daily use three weeks ahead of schedule. The tradeoff is the park district doesn’t yet have staff available during the afternoon to make fixes at the spraygrounds, which are open from 2-7 p.m.

“We just ask for people to be patient if they encounter any bugs this week,” community and neighborhood parks manager Joey Furuto said in a news release.

The other six spraygrounds are open Saturdays and Sundays through May. Starting May 30, the aquatic play areas will be open daily through Labor Day.
