Firefighters work the scene of a house fire in Bonney Lake, Wash., on Thursday, August 4, 2016.

One person died and two people suffered serious injuries Thursday after a fire in a mobile home south of Bonney Lake, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Authorities did not believe anyone else was in the home in the 14700 block of Prairie Ridge Drive East when the fire started.

Fire crews responded about 4 p.m. to find the mobile home in flames, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

The injured were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after escaping the house on their own, an East Pierce news release eaid. The person who died was trapped inside.

Troyer says the person who died was the father, born in 1932, of the two surviving men, born in 1959 and 1961.

Neighbors reported hearing explosions during the fire, but they were likely from ammunition or other normal explosions during a house fire, the release said.

The house is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
