Firefighters work the scene of a house fire in Bonney Lake, Wash., on Thursday, August 4, 2016.

An 83-year-old man who died Thursday after being trapped inside a burning mobile home in Bonney Lake was identified as Robert Reeder.

His two adult sons, who were home at the time of the blaze, were seriously injured. They were able to escape on their own.

East Pierce firefighters were called to the 14700 block of Prairie Ridge Drive East about 4 p.m. and found the home engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to get the fire under control before it spread, but the home was a total loss.

A cause has not been determined.

Neighbors said they heard explosions during the fire. Authorities believe the sounds likely were from ammunition or other normal explosions during a house fire.
