Fredda and Lori’s Deli is now open near the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The deli, which recently moved from the Key Peninsula to 2601 Jahn Ave. NW, opened Jan. 13.
The original location, owned and operated by Fredda Graham and Lori Critchfield, opened in 2013. But a leasing disagreement forced the pair to move their deli’s location.
“That was the main reason we moved,” Graham said. “We had no idea it was even coming. It was pretty frustrating.”
But it was perhaps a blessing in disguise. Business has been good at the new location, and Graham and Critchfield have had the opportunity to meet some new people at the new location.
“It’s going great,” Graham said. “People are wonderful. We’re getting a lot of good response, everyone seems to be happy we’re here. We have some of our old customers coming out to see us, too.”
The new space is an upgrade, too, according to Graham.
“We like our space better,” Graham said. “It’s cleaner and the electric is better. The location was a little concern (early on) for me but I’m finding it’s not. There’s an easier opportunity to get in and out with the freeway being right there.”
The shop serves breakfast, coffee, pastries baked in store, and of course, sandwiches for the lunchtime crowd. The sandwich list features small and large subs, including a club sandwich, BLT, toasted Reuben and more. Graham is still fond of the classic clubhouse sandwich.
“I like the old basic one,” she said with a laugh.
Fredda and Lori’s has added some new menu items since the shop changed locations, Graham said.
The deli currently has a 3.5 star rating out of 5 stars on Yelp with three reviews.
