Gig Harbor firefighters take on traffic accidents and a 2-alarm blaze

Nov. 30: Collision on bridge — Firefighters arrived to an icy Narrows Bridge just after 8:30am to find one vehicle with moderate front-end damage in the HOV lane. An engine parked to secure scene safety. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was treated at the scene, then transported for further medical attention.

Nov. 30: Rear-ender on SR16 — Just before noon, Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One was dispatched to the report of a two car rear-end type collision on State Route 16, east of Burnham Drive. Crews arrived to find both vehicles in the median with apparently minor damage. Two drivers and A passenger were evaluated by medics and released.

Dec. 4: Two-alarm house fire — Just after 10:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the area of Woodhill Drive. Multiple callers reported seeing the fire, including one caller from across Henderson Bay. Firefighters arrived to a fully involved house and a second alarm was requested. The fire was extinguished and an overnight fire-watch was posted to monitor for any hotspots. No injuries were reported.
