Gig Harbor police blotter: Bike light was dim, rider was hot; and a Lothario is booted from a bar

Not too bright

Dec. 9 – A man was observed by police riding his bicycle on Borgen Boulevard without proper lights or a helmet. The front light must be visible at a distance of 500 feet, and this man’s light was only visible at around 20 feet. When police stopped the cyclist, they saw the front light was just a small flashlight attached with electrical tape.

Police contacted the man at 12:25 a.m. near the Cushman Trailhead of Borgen Boulevard. The rider told officers he had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

The warrants were confirmed and the bicyclist was arrested and booked. His bicycle was placed into safekeeping.

Sorry, she’s taken

Dec. 7 – A man attempted to flirt with another man’s girlfriend at a bar, and was asked by security to leave. He attempted several times to sneak back into the bar, finally getting into a shoving match with the security guard. The security guard held the man down on the ground until police arrived.

Police were dispatched at 1:07 a.m. to the 5100 block of Point Fosdick Drive. The man was issued a trespass admonishment barring him from the business for a year.
