Photos with the Grinch — 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14, at Boujie, 7807 Pioneer Way. If you’re inclined more to “Bah, humbug!” than Santa, this photo op is for you.

Hayrides with Santa — 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14., beginning at Timberland Bank, 3105 Judson St. Ride a hay truck from Miracle Ranch with Santa. Rides leave every 20 minutes or so and circle through downtown Gig Harbor. Cookies and cider and a photo-op with Santa in the bank lobby before each ride. It’s all free, sponsored by the Downtown Waterfront Alliance.
Free vaccines — 10:30 a.m. to noon at Key Peninsula Community Center, 17015 9th St. C.t NW, Lakebay. Pierce County Medical Reserve Corps will provide vaccines at no cost for flu, Tdap, hepatitis and pneumonia. Must be 18 or over. Call 253-884-4440 for more information.

Chili Cookoff — 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 7701 Skansie Ave. Chili dinner, appetizers and deserts to benefit Eastside Baby Center (West Sound). Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped new toy, winter clothing or diapers for children under 5.
Santa’s Boatshop — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Eddon Boatyard, 3805 Harborview Dr. Children ages 3 and up are invited to build and paint model boats in “Santa’s Boatyard.” Limit 10 children per one-hour session beginning every half-hour. Children must be accompanied by an adult. $15 or $25 for two; includes materials.
Lighted Boat Parade 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Boats will assemble at Arabella’s Landing Marina, proceed to the City Dock area, turn inside the harbor entrance, go up the north side of the harbor and turn again to pass by Anthony’s restaurant and return to Arabella’s before tracing the route a second time.
Gingerbread House — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Key Center Pierce County Library, 8905 KPNW, Lakebay. Make and decorate your own gingerbread house. Materials supplied while they last. Cookies with Mrs. Claus — 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Sehmel Homestead Park, 10123 78th Ave. NW. Join Mrs. Claus for cookie decorating, warm beverages and holiday music. Mrs. Claus will read a story for children. A parent must accompany.
Snapology — 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Rosedale Hall, 8205 86th Ave. NW. Open house for families featuring art and 3D design using LEGO bricks.
Rummage Sale — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Key Peninsula Community Services, 17015 9th St. Ct. NW, Lakebay. Lots of stuff, including video games, mattresses, TV wall mounts, household items. Benefits food bank and senior center.
Sunday
Messiah Singalong — 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Singalong with Handel’s Messiah at t.he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12002 Peacock Hill Ave. Choir, soloists and orchestra will accompany the “audience choir” for this Christmas favorite.
Key Singers Concert — 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at KP Lutheran Church, 4213 Lackey Rd., Lakebay. Annual Christmas concert, with light refreshments. Free concert, but food bank donations are encouraged.
Christmas Bluegrass Jam — 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15 at Longbranch Community Church, 16518 46th St. SW. Bring an instrument and a potluck snack. Food bank donations appreciated.
Tuesday
Make a Snowman — 10 a.m. to noon at Key Peninsula Community Services, 17015 9th St. Ct. NW, Lakebay. Make a cute little snowman, for a gift or decoration. $1 for materials.
Wednesday
Nautical Wreathmaking — 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Gig Harbor Boatshop, 3805 Harborview Dr. Make a holiday wreath, nautical style, from marine rope. $65 for nonmembers, $55 members. Includes all materials.
