Gig Harbor police blotter: The dog food was hot; so was the guy beaten to a parking space

Somewhere, a pampered pooch

Feb. 29 – A suspect entered a store and was seen taking very expensive bags of dog food and dog accessories, amounting to $260.

Police were dispatched at 5:47 p.m. to the 5100 block of Borgen Boulevard where a man was filming the suspect, who got into the back seat of a car with the stolen items. The recording male asked the suspect if he paid for the items, and the suspect did not answer, slamming the door. The driver then backed up and sped off, almost hitting the man recording the video.

The officer ran the license plate and identified the driver. He is known to be couch surfing in the Kitsap Peninsula area.
