Almost 3K without power on Key Peninsula. It will be a while for repairs, utility says

Original post: Almost 3,000 people on the Key Peninsula are without power Thursday morning.

According to Peninsula Light Co.’s outage map, people started losing power around 3 a.m.

A single-car wreck near Wright Bliss Road resulted in a broken transmission pole, Pen Light Co. posted to X, formerly known as twitter.

“Repairs will be lengthy and could potentially cause residual outages on the Key Peninsula until complete,” Pen Light Co. said on X.

Just after 11 a.m. Pen Light Co. posted on X that residents could expect repairs to be finished by midday Thursday.
