The doors of the Tides Tavern are open again, after the beloved Gig Harbor waterfront restaurant closed for about a month for kitchen maintenance.

“We’re beyond excited to welcome you into the tavern again,” the restaurant wrote on social media Monday. “Our team has missed celebrating and making memories with you. Spread the word – Tides is open!”

The restaurant announced the temporary closure in late January, nearly two weeks after announcing a change in ownership to Anthony’s Restaurants. The 21+ bar and restaurant is a longtime installment in the harbor and remained in the Stanley family for 53 years.

Previous owner Dylan Stanley expressed confidence prior to the hand-off that Anthony’s respects the Tides’ history and plans to keep it the same as before, including the restaurant’s name, menu, chef and management staff.

Anthony’s issued their own news release on their website, indicating that “(e)verything that makes Tides special will stay the same,” from the menu to Tides swag to the 21+ restriction for entry. Gift cards for both Tides Tavern and Anthony’s will be accepted at all locations, the release said.

The News Tribune reached out to Anthony’s Restaurants to learn more about the kitchen maintenance completed but did not immediately hear back Monday.
