The Servpro office in Gig Harbor will soon have some new hardware to proudly display to customers who walk through the door at the location off Burnham Dr. NW.
That’s because owners Carl and Jean Betcher and their son, Matthew, were recently awarded the Millionaire’s Gold Award, which recognizes a performance in outstanding revenue.
The family accepted the award at the 47th annual Servpro Convention, which ran June 26 to 30 in Las Vegas. More than 2,800 franchise owners, corporate representatives and pivotal staff members attended the event.
Servpro is a company whose professionals restore properties (both residential and commercial) after water damage, fire damage, storm damage and mold remediation.

Carl, Jean and Matthew were at the convention. Matthew will be taking over the business after his father retires.
Matthew has worked at Servpro for 11 years, attending 11 conventions since 2005.
“Next year, the convention is going to be in Seattle,” Matthew said.
Not only did the convention feature an awards ceremony, but it also held workshops. The workshops — 28 in all — were focused on leadership training, and “training on new technology,” he said.
The workshops “helped me better prepare to help people,” Matthew said.
At the convention, Servpro employees across the country came together and had the chance to work with each other.
“It was awesome meeting with different people with different ideas,” he said.
Betcher went on to describe how working with different individuals has allowed for new proposals for improving Servpro firms across the nation.
As for the Millionaire’s Gold Award: “We haven’t received it yet, but we will hang it up in the office when we do,” Matthew said.
