Cheers and Jeers, April 8

Cheers to Kathy Weymiller and the Peninsula School District for bringing in an expert on Cyber Safety last week to the middle school students and their parents. Excellent presentations, invaluable information, and great conversations started in PSD families regarding what it means to be good digital citizens. Once again, thank you PSD for providing a strong education and creating a safe environment for our kids to learn and grow.

Jeers to to the builders of the illegal extreme dirt jumps (not for kids) at Kopachuck Middle School dug in secret over the last four months. No one contacted PSD about building beforehand. No one has the right to take over a piece of anyone’s property (school, park or private) and use it for their own purposes. Please work with PenMet on a safe, well-planned out BMX track at one of their facilities instead of rallying people against the school district.

Cheers to the gentleman who brought a vegetable tray to the Boys & Girls Club for the people doing the taxes and the people having their taxes done. Your kindness was greatly appreciated by all who showed up that day. Hope that you got a huge return! And Cheers to all the people who thank the preparers, your thoughts are greatly appreciated also!

Cheers to Marianne Binetti for her tremendously informative and engaging gardening workshop at the Civic Center. And cheers to the Pierce County Department of Health for hosting the workshop and providing lots of great literature. A cheer also to our new neighbor, Haggen Foods, for generously donating seed packets and tasty snacks. It was a great evening!

Cheers to Dr. Stadler and his team of professionals. I had a dental emergency on my way out of town. They got me in right away, did a crown in an hour, instead of two appointments thanks to some great CAD/CAM technology. Amazing!

Cheers to Girl Scout troop #40671 for their community spirit and kindness in making lap blankets for patients at St. Anthony Hospital! The lap blankets were given Easter Sunday to all in-house patients in celebration of the holiday!
