Cheers to the organizers for the best weekend Gig Harbor ever had. We were totally taken with the helpers in blue making sure litter and garbage was all picked up after Maritime Fest. It was a great time, and thanks for the beautiful weather. Maybe the U.S. Open needs to hire your weather guy.
Cheers to Haggen NW Fresh, and specifically Bob and Brenda, for allowing the Food Backpacks 4 Kids to hold a food/fund drive on such short notice. You are great and we appreciate you.
Jeers to the drivers that use Ray Nash Drive as their personal motor speedway. Those of use who live there cringe and wait for screeching tires when you come up on the turn to see if you make it or end up kissing a tree. Slow down!
Jeers to seagulls.

Jeers to those at the City who are not taking care of Austin Estuary Park. I was out there to replace the flowers on the picnic table on Monday and I started to cut up and get rid of dead blackberry vines that had been cut and left in the grass months before. It was blazing hot so I came back in the evening with three garbage cans to work on disposing of that mess.
Cheers to Will and Katrina Cardinal, who came to the park with their children, Thomas and Kate, to enjoy it. Will immediately came over to help me. Katrina called her father, who lives nearby, to bring down a rake. Her parents, LeRoy and Teri, came down with the rake and his pickup truck. It wasn’t long before the job was finished and the vines were loaded in Carlson’s pickup. It did my heart good to meet such a wonderful and caring family.
