1 killed in Kent stabbing, police say

A man fatally stabbed a woman during a domestic incident Wednesday afternoon in Kent, according to police.

The stabbing happened about 2:25 p.m. in the 9500 block of South 207th Place, spokesman Jarod Kasner wrote in a news release. The 54-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene.

According to Kasner:

Police arrived to find the 51-year-old woman critically injured with multiple stab wounds and tried to resuscitate her, but they were unsuccessful.

They found the man covered in blood nearby, carrying a large knife.

When police confronted him, he immediately dropped the knife and was arrested.

Investigators believe the incident was a domestic dispute that escalated. No further suspects are at large.
