A man was being transported Monday to the hospital after being stabbed in Tacoma at about 4 p.m.
The stabbing occurred near the 1400 block of Puyallup Avenue, said Tacoma Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool.
Cool said the suspect — a male in his 40s — appeared to have fled onto Interstate 5.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Cool said.

The man was injured on his right shoulder and left bicep, she said.
Police didn’t have any additional information about how the stabbing occurred.
Cool said police didn’t chase the stabbing suspect, as they weren’t sure which direction he had headed on the freeway.
