Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

James L. Parker Jr.

Age: 53.

Description: 6 feet and 230 pounds, brown hair with hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 2500 block of South J Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2007 of indecent exposure in Thurston County for exposing himself to two children. Convicted in 2001 of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, voyeurism and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes in King County after he was found with child porn and a video of woman he sexually assaulted that he acquired by spying on her.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Kenneth H. White Jr.

Age: 27.

Description: 5 feet 8 and 145 pounds, black hair with brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 1900 block of South Sheridan Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2013 of unlawful imprisonment in Clark County for drugging a young girl on a bus and holding her at gunpoint in a garage. Convicted in 2014 of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in Clark County after child porn was found on his cell phone.

Sex offender treatment: Unclear whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Richard Valles

Age: 34.

Description: 5 feet 6 and 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 1900 block of South Sheridan Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2003 on three counts of second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor in Pierce County for having sexual contact with three students while he was a teacher. Convicted in 2016 on second-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Sex offender treatment: Unclear whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
