Police say a woman will be extradited to Washington state from Colorado in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Kent over the weekend.

The 20-year-old woman suspected of being the driver in the crash that killed D’maine Dugar, 29, was arrested in Glendale, Colo., on an unrelated crime Tuesday, according to the Kent Police Department. Dugar had been walking along the roadway near the 20800 block of 132 Street Southeast in Kent early Saturday when he was hit.

Dugar’s body was found after officers responded to an unrelated single-car accident, Kent police said. Investigators determined that while Dugar had injuries consistent with being struck by a car, the car involved in the single-car accident hadn’t hit him.

Officers then found another car suspected of being involved in the hit-and-run abandoned in the area. Witnesses told investigators that the driver had fled in another car and was thought to be traveling out of state.

GoFundMe site set up by Dugar’s sister to cover funeral and memorial costs raised $4,650 in one day.
