Police shot an armed man to death early Friday after a high-speed chase ended in a Fife parking lot.
The incident started about 12:45 a.m. after Des Moines officers were called to a domestic dispute. Dispatchers warned that the man might have a gun.
As they pulled up to the home, officers saw the wanted man racing away on a motorcycle. The chase lasted for several minutes until he crashed in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in the 3400 block of Pacific Highway East.
It’s unclear what happened to prompt the shooting, and whether the man shot at the officers.
