Burglar disables security camera, but not before it catches her breaking into home

The Gig Harbor Police Department is asking for help identifying a woman who broke into a home on Monday.

Surveillance video shows the blonde woman in jeans, white shoes and a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt carrying a large black handbag as she approaches the back door of a home. She looks inside the window then pushes open the door to enter the home. The door was unlocked, said Chief Kelly Busey.

The woman disconnected the surveillance cameras once inside the home and then stole a wallet and various pieces of electronic equipment including camera and an Xbox. Busey says the woman may be responsible for burglaries in the area.

The department asks for anybody who recognizes the suspect to call 253-851-2236.
