Suspected gunman arrested in fatal shooting of JBLM soldier outside Tacoma nightclub

A man suspected of fatally shooting a Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier outside a Tacoma nightclub has been arrested.

The man was taken into custody late Wednesday in Kent. He is expected to appear in court later this afternoon.

Police believe he shot Daquan Foster, 22, and his wife about 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a nightclub in the 8400 block of South Hosmer Street.

The couple was walking out of the club when confronted by the gunman. After exchanging a few words, the gunman allegedly fired several shots as Foster and his wife tried to run away.

Foster was shot several times and died at a Tacoma hospital. His wife was shot once but survived.

It’s unclear what the confrontation was about.

Foster had one child and was originally from New York state.
