Up to $1,000 is available for information leading to the arrest of the person who fatally shot Jeremy Martin in Tacoma earlier this month.

Martin, 38, was shot about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 5 outside his home in the 1400 block of South 37th Street. He died at a Tacoma hospital hours later.

His 39th birthday would have been Christmas Day, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

He had just returned to his home when he was shot multiple times by an unidentified suspect, police say.

Witnesses told police they heard the shots and then saw an unidentified person in a large, puffy coat flee from the home to a waiting vehicle.

Detectives are seeking any information related to suspects or motives in Martin’s killing, and any suspicious people or vehicle seen near Martin’s home before the shooting.

Anyone with information about Martin’s death is asked to contact Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous.
