Two people were shot in Tacoma late Wednesday, and one of them died later at the hospital.
The other is expected to survive.
Nobody has been arrested.
Police were called just before 11 p.m. to the 1500 block of South M Street after several people in the area reported hearing gunshots.
Minutes later, officers found the crime scene blocks away at South 14th Street and L Street.
The victims, a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, showed up at the hospital shortly afterward.
The man. who has not been identified, died at the hospital at 11:28 p.m. The woman is expected to recover.
Details about what led up to the drive-by shooting have not been released.
The victims told police they don’t know why anybody would be shooting at them, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
