Six people shot in Kent. Two are in critical condition

Six people were shot Monday night in Kent, police said. Harborview Medical Center in Seattle is treating five victims, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The victims at Harborview, all males, range in age from 16 to 49, said spokeswoman Susan Gregg. Two of the victims are in critical condition and the other three are in serious condition.

The shooting occurred around 5:55 p.m. in the area of Pacific Highway South and 232nd Street, Kent police said. Initially, a Des Moines police officer had been flagged down concerning a single victim. When Kent police arrived at the scene they found five more victims.

One victim was treated at the scene for a minor wound and released.

Three people were detained by police at the scene and are being questioned, police said. It’s unknown if they are suspects.

Detectives are processing the scene late Monday.
