Speeding driver killed after crashing into Tacoma pole has been identified

A 62-year-old man who died last week after crashing into a power pole in Tacoma has been identified.

Police said Charles Watson was speeding as he traveled south in the 2800 block of Pacific Avenue, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a pole.

The crash occurred about 11 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
