Man suspected of shooting into Spanaway convenience store turns himself in

A man suspected of shooting into a Spanaway convenience store turned himself in to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department this week.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers circulated fliers about the June 16 incident at a 7-Eleven store in the 17400 block of Pacific Avenue South.

Several people identified the man after seeing surveillance photos, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The man, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered to authorities Wednesday and was booked into jail on suspicion of reckless endangerment.

The man entered the store to buy cigarettes, got into his truck and fired one shot through his front windshield, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The shot did not injure the customers or employee inside.

No motive for the shooting has been released.
