Kent police trying to identify man who stole Oxycodone from pharmacy

Kent police on Wednesday were looking for a man who robbed a Rite Aid pharmacy of Oxycodone.

The man walked into the store at 105 Washington Ave. N. about 9:35 p.m. on July 16 and approached the pharmacy. He told an employee his name was Michael Edwards and handed over his iPhone.

On the screen was a note stating he was robbing the store and had a gun he wouldn’t hesitate to use, police said. The man got away with 23 bottles of Oxycodone.

“Our concern is that this guy got away with it once, so he will likely try again,” Detective Melanie Frazier said.

Officers searched the area after the robbery but did not find the man.

He is described as black with a light complexion, 25 to 35 years old with brown eyes, dark hair and a goatee. The robber was about 5 feet 9 with a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kent Police Department’s tip line at 253-856-5808.
