The Lakewood husband and wife who died in a homicide-suicide shooting Wednesday afternoon in Lacey have been identified, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.

The man was Ronald Ray, 53, and the woman, Brenda Ray, 38. Both lived in Lakewood.

Autopsies are set for Friday, the coroner’s office announced.

The couple were found near a vehicle Wednesday in the 7000 block of 56th Ave NE, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. The woman was dead at the scene, and the man died on his way to Providence St. Peter Hospital.

A semi-automatic pistol also was found at the scene, along with two spent shell casings.

The man is thought to have shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
