Man found dead in car in Parkland was shot and killed, Medical Examiner says

A man whose body was found Friday in a car in Parkland died from multiple gunshot wounds, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday.

He was identified as 23-year-old Erled Lopez-Mosquera. His death was a homicide, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. It was not immediately clear where he was from.

A woman called 911 Friday to report a man she thought was sleeping in his car on her property in the 1200 block of 144th Street East. Deputies arrived and found the man was dead.

Detectives did not release further information about their investigation Monday.
