Robber holds up convenience store

Puyallup police arrested a man Monday evening on suspicion of robbing a gas station clerk at gunpoint earlier in the day.

The 30-year-old man from Graham was set to be booked into the Pierce County Jail on a count of first-degree robbery.

The holdup took place about 9 a.m. in the 900 block of North Meridian.

A man walked into the convenience store, pulled out a silver revolver and demanded money from the clerk. The robber fled north with an undisclosed amount of cash, police reports say.

Nobody was injured.

Police said that tips from the public led to the arrest. Detectives took the suspect into custody at about 5:30 p.m.
