A 43-year-old woman fatally hit by a commuter train Thursday in Tacoma has been identified as Tammy Wood.
Wood, a transient, was walking along the tracks beneath the Murray Morgan Bridge when a southbound Amtrak commuter train hit her.
Police said the conductor blew the engine’s horn up to five times to warn Wood of the approaching train but she never looked up.
Her death was ruled an accident, not a suicide.
