Police seek information in Lincoln District homicide

Tacoma police are asking the public for help finding whoever fatally shot a man Sunday in the city’s Lincoln District.

Michael Ward Jr., 32, was shot about 4 a.m. near South 39th Street and Yakima Avenue.

Witnesses heard gunshots, and found the wounded Ward in his parked car. There was a bullet hole in the driver’s side door, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

The shooting happened outside a private club where about 100 people were attending a party. The club has not been connected to the shooting, police said.

Anyone who was at the club is asked to contact police.
