Baby boy dies from injuries after Graham car accident

An 11-month-old boy has died from injuries suffered last week in a car accident in Graham, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The baby, from Panama City, Florida, was identified as Samuel Jones.

The crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. Sept. 5 in the 29600 block of state Route 161.

Troopers said the baby’s 22-year-old mother was traveling north when she turned left in front of a southbound pickup truck pulling a car hauler trailer.

The mother was not hurt in the crash; neither was her 3-year-old son in the back seat or the other driver.

The car the mother was driving was totaled, the State Patrol said.

Everybody in both vehicles was wearing seat belts.

The baby was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, where he died.
