Police were searching for a man who robbed an Olympia bank Saturday afternoon, according to the Olympia Police Department.
Police responded to an alarm at the Bank of America on Ninth Avenue and Black Lake Boulevard at 12:58 p.m. When they arrived, they learned from a bank employee that the bank had been robbed by an armed man, who fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Olympia police and officers from neighboring departments searched the area but weren’t able to find the man.
According to police, the suspect was described as white, 26 to 33 years old, 6 feet 3 and 215 to 220 pounds. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head and a mask that covered his face just below his eyes. He showed a gun during the robbery.
