Motorcyclist hurt in collision

A motorcyclist was hurt late Sunday after hitting a car that turned in front of him on state Route 7 near Spanaway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident took place just after 11 p.m. in the southbound highway lanes at 260th Street East, about 11 miles south of Spanaway.

The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old Eatonville man, was traveling south when the car made an illegal turn in front of him and he hit the back of the car, troopers said.

He was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma with unknown injuries.

The 28-year-old Spanaway woman driving the car was not hurt. She was believed to have been drinking, the State Patrol said.

That section of state Route 7 was closed for about three hours while troopers investigated the crash.
