A 60-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed Friday morning while crossing a street in Federal Way.
The pedestrian has not yet been identified.
Police said the woman was jaywalking about 6:30 a.m. in the 32200 block of 21st Avenue Southwest. She had nearly reached the curb when a northbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Kent man struck her.
“This appears to be an unfortunate tragedy due to poor driving conditions/light and a pedestrian crossing outside of a crosswalk,” police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock wrote in a news release.
