An Auburn man who police said was shot while returning from a pizza run during halftime of the Seattle Seahawks game was in serious condition Tuesday.
A robber confronted the man about 7:45 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of M Street Southeast, asked for his “stuff,” and shot him in the back when he said he didn’t have anything, police spokesman Steve Stocker said.
The victim had just returned to the parking lot of his apartment building with the pizza at the time, Stocker said.
Emergency crews took the victim, who is about 30, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Investigators haven’t been able to speak with him much due to his injuries, Stocker said. Police think the suspect is a man, but do not yet have a description.
Detectives didn’t have reason to think the two knew each other.
