Federal prosecutors accuse a woman of talking about sexually and physically abusing her children and others online, and exchanging child pornography, all while living at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Sarah Cecilia Wales, 32, was charged in U.S. District Court with one count of possessing child pornography and three counts of distributing it.
Prosecutors filed the charging papers Oct. 9, and Wales was arrested Oct. 14 in Spokane. She was ordered to undergo electronic home monitoring Oct. 17. Her next court appearance is set for Friday in Tacoma.
An attorney for her was not reachable Tuesday.

Court records give this account:
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children told local authorities in June 2013 that a user of a Canadian smartphone messaging service had been talking with other users about the sexual abuse of children.
Investigators traced the messages to Wales and found records of conversations in which she talked about sexually and physically abusing young children, including her own.
In one record, according to the documents, she and another user talked about a fantasy of sexually abusing, killing and dismembering a 7-year-old girl.
In multiple conversations, Wales said she sexually abused her young children. When FBI agents contacted and interviewed her, she said the conversations were “disgusting” but were exclusively role-playing.
She admitted she received child pornography in adult chat rooms online and redistributed it. Wales said she did not take any of the photos or videos.
The FBI got additional records Aug. 29 from another messaging account Wales used to distribute the images.
