Police bust up prostitution activities at Fife massage parlors

Fife police said Thursday they and officers from other law enforcement agencies raided three massage parlors this week and cited seven women for prostitution or practicing massage without a license.

The investigation began about two months ago after Fife police received complaints that the parlors were dens of illegal activity.

Undercover detectives acting as customers went to the parlors and were offered sex and sex-related acts in exchange for money, police said.

On Wednesday, officers from Fife police, Lakewood police, Pierce Metro Crime Response Unit and the Department of Homeland Security served search warrants at the businesses and arrested the seven women, all of whom face misdemeanor charges.

No customers were in the parlors at the time of the raids, so no johns were arrested or cited, said Dave Woods, Fife’s assistant police chief.

The parlors are in the 4800 block and 5100 block of Pacific Highway East and the 1400 block of 54th Avenue East.
