Local clergy will gather Monday to honor a Puyallup community activist and former pastor who was killed riding his bike.
Eric Renz, 66, died this month of injuries suffered Nov. 24 when an alleged impaired driver hit him as he rode his bike near the Washington State Fairgrounds.
The Moment of Blessing will take place at noon Monday at Ninth Avenue Southwest and Fourth Street Southwest, where Renz was hit.
The blessing, organized by Associated Ministries, is intended to reclaim areas where people have been killed.

Renz served as a pastor in Presbyterian churches for decades and was active in the Freezing Nights campaign where Puyallup-area churches provide shelter and meals to homeless people during cold weather.
In November, Renz ran unsuccessfully for the state House against incumbent Republican Rep. Hans Zeiger.
